Cooperative Christian Ministry
CCM’s mission is to provide immediate assistance to members of our community who are experiencing crisis in the areas of food, shelter, or finances while engaging them in a series of actions that will empower them to move beyond crisis. Feed The Souls Food Pantry partners with and receives supplies from CCM in Concord.
The Gideons International
The Gideons International is an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and by providing Bibles and New Testaments. While they are often recognized for our work with hotels, they also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them. Several Bethel members are Gideons and Bethel hosts a Gideon speaker annually and encourages its members to provide financial support for this important work.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is engaged in a wide range of missions including food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and a wealth of children’s programs. Bethel provides bell ringers for several shifts each December at the Locust Walmart and serves food at the Center of Hope Shelter in Concord for two weeks each calendar year.
Reach Out Orphanage Ministries
ROOM’s mission is to share the love of Christ by empowering children and communities through abandonment prevention, orphanage support and overall solutions in orphan care, primarily in Honduras and India. Several Bethel members serve in ROOM leadership positions. The S.R. McEachern class provides financial support for an orphanage in India. Bethel sends several teams of missionaries to Honduran orphanges each year.
Operation Christmas Child
Since 1993, the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child, has collected and delivered more than 135 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories. Individuals, families, churches and groups fill empty shoeboxes with a “wow” item—like a doll or soccer ball—and other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and notes of encouragement. Each Christmas season, Bethel members pack dozens of shoeboxes for this project.
Central Cabarrus Bible Teaching Association
Bethel members actively support the fundraising activity of this organization whose sole purpose is to fund Bible instruction at high schools within our geographic reach. Several Bethel members serve on the board of CCBTA. Each high school in Cabarrus County can offer elective, academic Bible classes IF and ONLY IF the funds are raised each year. The number of Bible classes offered to students each semester directly depends on the financial support of the community. NO FUNDS = NO CLASSES!
